Penn State Scandal

This week marked the end of the era of Joe Paterno.  This man coached the Penn State Nitanny Lions for 61 years as head coach.  The events of this week are stunning is an understatement.  Apparently, a former defensive coach who was arrested in 1999 and let go from the University, somehow was allowed to use the facilities on campus in 2002.  He molested a 10-year old boy on campus.  This had been going on more than one occassion.  Coach Paterno had heard from one of his people they had witnessed an event in 2002.  His former defensive coach was caught in the act.  This person who caught them reported this to coach Paterno.

Ask yourself, if are the head coach - what should I do?  Call the authorities?  Report this to a higher staff member?  Both?  What makes sense?  Making decisions in leadership is your job and you have to have a sense of morality.

Paterno did not call the authorities in 2002.  Paterno claims there were allegations all over sports all the time.  He treated none of them seriously.

Paterno did however report this incident higher up to his superiors.  He did not hide the issue he reported it.  That was viewed as not doing enough and made a ton of people angry.  It was enough to get him fired.

The man implicated was a former defensive coach for him for 20 years (Jerry Sandusky).  Why wouldn't Paterno follow it up?  Friends or not, how could a man who was such a positive influence for the community allow this to happen?  After it wasn't followed up upon, he chose to remain quiet.  Why would he do this?

He never believed it happened in my opinion.

Paterno didn't want his former defensive coach to know he was the one who reported it.  He was friends with this person for years.  You don't rat on someone you are friends with for decades.  You do however have a responsibility to protect communities from molesters and young kids from getting molested in the future.

Where is our morals?  Where did they go?

College football brings in a lot of money - the university would never want to stop the money from coming in.  I find it too ironic that this story the university would want to keep this quiet.  Unless maybe it was to appease the head coach.  Why wouldn't they want to report this issue?  Maybe because a football coach didn't want to see his friend implicated then and probably didn't want to believe it.  Denial is a power thing.

It's too bad Coach Paterno handled these allegations as he did the entire tenure as head coach in this manner.  I truly believe there were other incidents that happened and never got reported.  He couldn't believe anyone around him could do these things.

Hopefully we can learn to have morals and be great leaders.  Sorry Joe Pa...even with all of your successes, you came up as a huge moral failure.  I just hope none of the boys that got molested under your tenure can move on from this horrible nightmare.

Multiple Meaning Animation

Multiple Meaning Animation

This is an "animation" I made. It really had or has no real purpose, I think it's kind of cool though since I only used Paint to create it. I wonder who else has created things of the like.

So, do you like it? What have you seen like it? What do you see?

How Kids React to...

"How Kids React to..."

This is Logan here. I am going to share a video, or a YouTube user that I found today. I don't know if the videos are funny, but I think they are at least interesting.

I like this video, so I decided to subscribe to this user. I think the user "TheFineBros" is worth a look and maybe a laugh.

Not much else to these videos, but I just wanted to share. And whether it's real or not (I would hope people wouldn't think it's fake) it's still a good video here.

What do you think of the video? User?

About Me - Logan

About Me - Logan

My name is Logan. I help with my mother's grammar and spelling. She's getting better at it, but this is about me. I like to do a lot of things, so anything I do I usually enjoy. Some of the activities I like to do includes making anything creative, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. I suppose you could say I'm your typical teenager, but you'd have to be really generalizing. I am far from typical, but then again how do you define typical?

Some people would say that I am really funny and I might agree with them. Not because I am snobby, but mainly because I have gotten people to cry and "almost" pee their pants, I'm sure you know what that means.

I have a few lifetime obsessions. Those include The Sims and Big Brother. I dream to be a developer of The Sims, but I also dream of being on a reality show. Those are my dreams, but I would enjoy doing anything else.

I never know what else to write in these About Me things, but I'm sure you will get to know me as I post on here.

About Me - Chris

About Me - Chris

I am a very sensitive person who likes to see people succeed.  When I say succeed I don't necessarily mean everything is always going well for you.  What I mean is how one handles adversity is what defines a person.  If things are going well for people financially for instance, it doesn't mean you are successful.  Success is only measured by the eye of the beholder and how others are affected by you.

I have survived cancer, served in the Marines and was a good distance runner in high school.  But my lifelong goal to improve my attitude is still a challenge.  I have a long way to go in this bizarre thing called life.  Take care and keep reading, hopefully we hit on something that hits home.

About Me - Tammy

About Me - Tammy

My name is Tammy. Hello to all,I would like to say I am your average 42 year old, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, but now that i think about it i'm far from normal just like a lot of you I'm sure.  I have been married for 13 years to a man who is pretty great [now] it took a little while to get him there, (lol) , but it also has taken awhile for me to get there to.  I am in cooking school my last 6 weeks just started today its pretty scary for me.  I have had weight loss surgery  in January it was called an open sleeve gastronomy,I am down almost 100 lbs. I was also diagnosed with Celicas disease about 2 years ago that was a little rough for me at first cause I was a big bread eater. I haven't had a good job in along time due to wanting to stay home with my last son and not having a lot of skills we all know what that is like in this day and age.I just figured out what I want to do in life just a little late and I am scared crapless  I am also on a mission to try to find my mom a nice guy to date, so might need some peoples help.  I have had a lot of interesting things happen to me in my life and would like to talk about any of it, ghosts, weight loss, kids [only have boys]  Celicas, new career, being scared of like almost everything lately.

Like today first day with new chef and I cut my finger pretty good with a metal flipper can you say what a geek who does that happen to, my partner and I messed up our bread, yeah I got stuck making the one thing that I can no longer eat go figure.

Well that's it for now just to let you get to know me and a little bit what I'm about, I love to make people laugh and be happy. I will write about my crazy life and would like input from others going threw stuff like me. Have a wonderful day, till next time.
